The Bible says that: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). God’s Son, Jesus, is the Good Shepherd. He loves you and wants to bring you forgiveness and peace. The only way that He can do that is for you to open your heart and ask Him to come into your life. God’s Word tells us that "all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23) and that "the wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23).
Without Jesus, we are all lost. Do you want to know the voice of your Shepherd? Invite Him in now, ask Him to forgive all your sins and to take control of your life, and He will guide you each day of your life. He knows you better than you know yourself and He knows what is best for you. As you follow Him, Psalm 23 will become real to you and as one of His sheep, you will always be able to recognize His voice speaking peace to you, no matter what circumstances you find yourself in. Trust Him today! Open the door of your heart so He can come in.
"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20).
If you have decided to turn your life over to Jesus and accept Him as your Lord and Savior, tell someone of your decision. Record this date in your Bible or journal as your spiritual birthdate. Make plans to attend a local Bible-preaching church to be nurtured and supported by other believers. There, you will also have opportunity to serve God and to discover the gifts He has given you to fulfill His plan in your life.
